Understanding Professional Photography Rates
The investment for your professional wedding photography can feel overwhelming or confusing if you have never hired a professional photographer before, and you might be tempted to just ask a friend.
Before you do this please consider the following…
What Goes into Photographing a Wedding:
- The night before: charge and clean all equipment.
- The day of: pack gear and travel to the location.
- Evaluation of the site, current lighting, and environment.
- Two to eight hours shooting on location.
- Travel back from the loctation.
- Six to 30 hours importing, sorting, small batch editing in lightroom, and editing 20 to 80 custom edits in photoshop.
- Creating and uploading your personal gallery.
- Investments in professional gear and upgrades.
- Investment in professional photo editing software and systems.
- Professional fees and insurance.
All About Custom Editing
Custom edits are the pride and joy of my work. For me it is the true art. A photo is not only batch edited in lightroom it is also brought into photoshop to be worked on individually. Here the photo will be sharpened and/or softened, blemishes and other things that need removed are removed, artistic tones are added, eyes and teeth whitened, skin softened, skies and light added, and sometimes bubbles, leaves, hearts, and other artistic add-ons.
Every photo is edited differently and then copied and converted into black and white and again fine adjustments are made to this version.
